Our recent Country Walk was on Wednesday 27th May from the village of Wimblington following the Woodman's Way to March and back.
The highlight of the walk on a lovely sunny morning was visiting the parish church of March, St Wendreda. When we arrived ready for our break and snack we were rewarded by the church being open and so we were able to explore this grade 1 listed church with its spectacular double vaulted roof with a vast array of angels, their wings resembling those of the Marsh Harrier.
We were also lucky enough to be greeted by the Rev Ruth Clay vicar of the church who provided us with coffee and a short talk on the wonderful history of the church.
We all agreed that this was a rather special walk!
Please see photos!
Note that we currently have three walking groups:
- Country Walks - 6 or 7 miles every 4th Wednesday of the month
- Leisure Walks - 2-3 miles on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month
- Strollers - about 1 mile on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month
