We are now on our Easter break and will resume on April 16th. for the summer term. There will be no meeting on May 14th.  No meeting on May 28th (half term week).  Term ends on July 16th and we resume on September 10th.

The classical guitar is a nylon stringed instrument, playing self accompanied music, for instance, like a piano.

It is a style of playing reliant on knowledge and technique. Once these attributes are mastered the music style chosen can be any - it is not, as the title suggests, connected just to classical music.

During our meetings, we learn to read music onto the instrument, the technique, where the notes are in the different positions and just when needed, some basic music theory. Those who can already play are also welcome.

A viable guitar is needed and footstool or guitar cushion or guitar rest and a music stand. Music will be scanned to you.

Interested people can contact me, using the blue envelope link at the top of the page, for advice, more information or to be put on the waiting list.

Any interested U3A member is welcome to come and watch a meeting anytime, but I am not taking new members into the class at present.
