St Ives (Cambs)

We made our own Entertainment!

On the afternoon of Thursday, 4th December 2025, St Ives Corn Exchange was full of u3a members having a really fun time. See the foot of this page for one of the programmes (for the "first day of Christmas"):

You can experience something of the afternoon with these videos on YouTube. Click on any image to see the video on YouTube in a new tab.

The first in the list is of the whole afternoon. The others are clips of the main parts of the entertainment, extracted from this full video.

The whole afternoon (1 hour 25 minutes) - including credits but not including the mince pies and bubbly! A special thanks to Joy Cooper for bringing it all together, and to Graham Emmett for filming and editing it.

The most significant parts of the afternoon are presented separately below.

To begin with, our Uke-Troupe led by Mark Taylor played a number of songs from their repertoire (28 minutes).

Then we were treated to a mini pantomime of Snow White and the Magnificent Seven (13 minutes).

Brian Barnes led us in all singing The 12 days of Christmas (9 minutes). We all had a programme and on the back of that programme was an image which told us which of the 12 days we were each singing.

Finally, our Uke-Troupe and John Pulham on the keyboard led us in a number of well-known Christmas songs (28 minutes). Our Signing (BSL) group joined in some of them using what they had learned.
