Membership Renewals

Background

Your membership of St Ives u3a is due for renewal on 1st April 2025.

The annual fee remains unchanged at £13 and will cover your membership until 1st April 2026. If you have paid a full fee to another u3a the fee is £9.50 (this concession excludes Cambridge as they are independent of the national u3a).

Preferred method of payment

Many of you have already set up a payment to go out by standing order on 1st April each year, in which case you need do nothing. This makes it easy for all of us.

(If you do not pay by Standing Order there are instructions below.)

Membership cards

Membership cards are a card for life, and your existing card remains valid so long as you renew your membership. The Beacon system will alert us to any members who do not renew.

Only if you do not pay by Standing Order

(Please check that you are not making payment by standing order. It causes extra work if you pay twice. If you are in doubt, then do nothing until after April 1 and we will contact you with instructions. There is no problem with paying late, as long as you do it by the end of May.)

If you have not already arranged a standing order payment, the options are:

  1. BACS payment (online) to:
    St Ives Cambs U3A account: Sort code 40-40-35, Account number 41529994
    For the reference please enter your membership number (shown on your membership card), followed by surname;
  2. If you do not have online banking, you can request your bank to make a payment for you over the counter, by giving them our bank details, as for a BACS payment above.
  3. Banks now charge us for paying in cheques, but if a cheque really is the only option for you, please
    - make it payable to St Ives (Cambs) U3A, for £13 (£9.50 if full fee paid to another u3a)
    - print your name and membership number on the back
    - post it to the Treasurer c/o 2 Spinney Way, Needingworth PE27 4SR

(Note that our name is now "u3a", but our bank still likes to use the old upper case "U3A".)

For future renewals, a standing order payment is preferable. Please request a form from our Treasurer/Membership Secretary to set this up.
