The May AI Club had a guest speaker, David McCall, from another u3a branch in South Gloucestershire. He runs Silver AI Project courses and introduced us to music and art created by two AI tools, Suno and Midjourney.

But he inspired us further with his presentation of AI glasses for blind and partially sighted people — and with his individual efforts so far to publicise their availability, enable people to try them without having to pay the nearly £400 cost of a pair, and with his personal investment to kickstart the project by selling a web address.
Take a look at the 42-minute video recording of his AI Club session here on YouTube and discover what these glasses can do for people. You can also read a text-only conversion of the video here. It’s a remarkable good news story that’s yet to be told. And we’re exploring what we can do to help.
