It was quite a harrowing story of Jewish children living in Holland. Foster families were used in the provinces during the Nazi occupation. Bart Van Es was the grandson of Lien’s foster parents and he researched into his family to find out more. The story was well written and we felt we had learnt something about how the Dutch people survived during that time.
