This month members brought along objects from the WW2 era - both military and civilian.

They told us about a wide variety of items such as a Defence Medal, a Home Guard cap badge, armed forces service records, a VE Day newspaper, Red Cross and St. John Ambulance training certificates, telegrams, a sweetheart brooch and many others.

One member brought in a WW2 cookery book and we tasted carrot scones whilst listening to music from the era.

The meeting was rounded off with a poem about VE Day, written and read by one of our members.
